Shelley Aagard

About

Shelley has just relocated from Greensboro, NC, where she spent the last 10 years as Owner and Artistic Director of To The Pointe Ballet Studio. As a teacher, she taught 12 leveled ballet classes, 6 leveled tap classes, and 3 leveled Musical Theatre classes. In her capacity as Artistic Director, she staged their annual Nutcracker, choreographed for their annual Spring Recital, and directed the pre-professional Ballet Company. She has also danced for the last 30 years, most recently with the adult division of the UNC School of the Arts, and the North Carolina Dance Project. She has performed in multiple regional theatre productions, including Miss Saigon, Annie, and Phantom of the Opera as an ensemble dancer. Shelley has also choreographed for multiple community theatre performances, including Newsies, Seussical, Lion King, Annie, and Peter Pan. Shelley has studied Balanchine and Cecchetti technique, and her training includes studying with the Orlando Ballet, Atlanta Ballet, Ballet West, and BYU Ballet – where she graduated with her BA. She continued both her tap and musical theatre dance education while at BYU and studied tap under Frank Trent. Shelley is also Level 3 Certified in Progressing Ballet Technique. Shelley is a mom to 4 kids and loves spending her time with youth.
